Grower Opportunity Zones

Grower Opportunity Zones (GOZ) are defined geographic areas within which a validated super-majority (>80%) of alfalfa seed growers elect to focus on the production of either Adventitious Presence Sensitive (APS) or Genetically Enhanced (GE) alfalfa seed.

The National Alfalfa and Forage Alliance manages the submission and approval of all GOZs. The CCIA has made every effort to draw the maps accurately on the map. If you are interested in fields which may lie on the border of a GOZ then check the  NAFA web site for specific information.

The CCIA provides the GOZ areas on the Alfalfa Isolation Management Map as a tool to help growers plan their seed production. Below is an image of the western United States with each GOZ identified by a blue circle for GE-GOZ and a red circle for APS-GOZ.
