Pinning Maps

Isolation Mapping Overview

The online mapping systems are provided as tools to help maintain field isolation of various seed crops. The Demonstration Map is provided for users to practice and experience how the map works. There is no charge for pinning on this map and all pins are deleted at the end of each day.

All other maps require permission in order to use them. Please view the tutorials provided BEFORE using any of the maps. It will answer most of your questions. The maps are programmed with isolation distances for different crops. Email notifications are sent to all parties when the isolation distance is violated by a pin.

Demonstration Map

No login is required to use this map. Pins are deleted from the map each night. So when you ask the map to "Show pins" there may be no pins to show. Draw a few fields and pin them in order to see how it works.

Crop Isolation Pinning Map - California

This map is for vegetables crops, safflower, and sunflower.

Billing information:

Sunflower
- Pins are billed after 30 days at $15 per pin.
- If the status of a pin is changed to "inactive" prior to 30 days there will be no charge for the pin.
- Inactive pins are deleted immediately.
Vegetables
- Pins are billed after 7 days at $15 per pin.
- If the status of a pin is changed to "inactive" before 7 days there will be no charge for the pin.
- Inactive pins are NOT deleted from the map.

Alfalfa Isolation Management Map

This map is for GE alfalfa fields. See Alfalfa Isolation Map Tutorial (pdf) for isolation distances programmed into the map.

Billing information:

Pins are billed each night at 11:00 pm at $15 per pin.
If the status of a pin is changed to "inactive" before this time there will be no charge for the pin.
If pins with a “pushed” status are not updated to “signed” or “inactive,” they will automatically be changed to “inactive” after 20 days of inactivity.
Inactive pins are deleted from the map after 60 days.

Grower Opportunity Zones (GOZ) are defined geographic areas within which a validated super-majority (>80%) of alfalfa seed growers elect to focus on the production of either APS or GE alfalfa seed. These areas may be identified on the map at your request. The National Alfalfa and Forage Alliance manages the submission and approval of all GOZs. If you are interested in specific information about GOZs check the National Alfalfa & Forage Alliance web site at NAFA.

New map year begins August 1st of each year.

Treasure Valley Sweet Corn Map - Idaho

This map is maintained for the Treasure Valley Idaho corn growers.
